Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 1926 – 2022

The Mayor passes on deepest condolences of the residents of Wellingborough Town Council to HM King Charles III. Floral tributes can be laid at Jotto's Fountain and a book of condolence will be in Swanspool House.

Wellingborough Repair Café are looking for more volunteers in the area, so why not join them!

Queensway, Wellingborough – Carriageway Resurfacing

There will be a road closure on Queensway and associated side roads as Northamptonshire Highways carry out carriageway resurfacing works from Tuesday 30 August, 2022 – Friday 9 September, 2022 from 09:30 – 15:30 weekdays and 08.00 to 18:00 at weekends. Please look out for advanced warning signs and diversion routes.

Supporting Independence Programme

North Northamptonshire Council are running The Supporting Independence Programme. It is a Northamptonshire Public Health service, delivered free of charge in community clinics across the county. They provide tailored support to clients (aged 18 & over) in several areas of their life, which may impact their every-day independence & wellbeing.

Essential maintenance works on the A45 Great Doddington eastbound & westbound

Highways will be carrying out essential maintenance works to the existing eastbound and westbound carriageways of the A45 between Great Doddington (junction 11) and the Wilby Way roundabout (A45/A509). Work is due to start on 6th June 2022 and is scheduled for completion by the beginning of October 2022. Highways will work under full carriageway closures between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday. Some elements of the work will require full weekend closures from 8pm Friday to 6am Monday. During these closures fully signed diversion routes will be in place.

Visitor Use of the Upper Nene Valley

North and West Northants Councils with Bedford Borough Council and the Wildlife Trust are currently undertaking a survey to find out more about how people use the Upper Nene Valley for recreation to help with managing these spaces in the future.

International Women’s Day 2022

On 8 March 2022, we celebrate International Women's Day and interviewed Councillor Lora Lawman, the Mayor of Wellingborough Town Council, to find out who she is inspired by and what it means to be a woman in local government.

Supporting the town centre

The Town Council has launched a program of events over Christmas. These include a photo station where you can photos taken with your family, reindeer, a fun fair, a human snow globe and many more.
