Wellingborough is shining a spotlight on disabilities as part of Disability Pride month.
Leader of Wellingborough Town Council, Councillor Graham Lawman says
“People with disabilities face challenges every day and this event is about identifying the wide variety of barriers they face, celebrating their overcoming them and educating people on what we can do to help them.
I’m delighted that Wellingborough is taking the lead on this and welcoming the inclusivity this brings.
There will be lots of stalls providing information about disabilities and entertainment throughout the day for everyone to enjoy, so please come along on the day.”
This event is the first one of its kind in the area and the Town Council hopes it will spur on others to hold similar events. Disability Pride Wellingborough will take place on Saturday the 29th July, from 11am to 4pm in Market Street, Wellingborough.
If you are an organisation or individual who would like to participate, more information can be found on the Facebook Disability Pride Wellingborough page.
