Residents of Queensway, please look out for advance warning signs and diversion route!

What Highways are doing/the benefits

Northamptonshire Highways are scheduled to carry out resurfacing works on Queensway, Wellingborough. These works will improve the structural stability of the road and improve safety for road users. Works include replacement of ironwork, where required, and road markings will be reinstated to ensure best use is made of the closure and to minimise disruption for residents in the future.

Queensway Closure

Traffic Management

When programming works, Highways consider the impact on all network users and plan works to minimise disruption as much as possible. They do understand that the closure will cause some inconvenience, but, works can only be completed safely and efficiently with this in place.

Highways hope any inconvenience will be tolerated for the duration of the works as they are required for the safety of all road users. During the road closure, a diversion route will be in place during working hours. The red line shows the works extents and the blue line is the diversion.

Vehicle parking

To help them with their work, please could you move any vehicles parked within this section of the road before 09:30am each day.

This is to enable the workforce to be able to carry out the works swiftly, without delay.

Please do not park on Queensway and please leave a minimum of 20 metres of any junction with Queensway throughout duration of the works.

Thank you for your understanding, patience and co-operation.

Towaway – moving vehicles parked in our workspace

Highways have been working with the Authority and have agreed that unlawfully parked vehicles, that are preventing or hindering the works taking place, may be relocated to an adjacent street.

This will be carried out by an approved contractor and vehicles will be moved to somewhere nearby.

Please look out for the signs and no parking cones in your street.

Workforce will try to find the owners of parked vehicles and Towaway will only be used as a last resort.

If you are able to move your vehicle, please look out for the signs. These signs will also be located on your street detailing the closure dates.

Please ensure your vehicle is relocated away from the works area.

Your assistance and cooperation will be very much appreciated. They understand that it may not be possible to move your vehicle at this time, if this is the case, please contact the Site Manager. (Details below)

If your vehicle is towed away, please call 01908 610568 and select Option 1 for details on where it has been relocated to.
